The Town of St. George, settled in 1612, was the first permanent English settlement on the islands of Bermuda. It is the oldest continuously-inhabited English town in the New World.

The St. George's Preservation Authority was formed by an Act of Parliament. The Board is appointed by the Governor of Bermuda. The Authority works to preserve the character of St George for future generations.
